The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing you with the care and supports you need to achieve your goals. You’re not alone, more than 460,000 Australians under 65 who have a permanent and significant disability can access the NDIS.
The NDIS is not means-tested and does not replace existing national schemes, such as income support through Centrelink. The NDIS provides additional funding to meet the special needs of a person with a disability, such as to buy a wheelchair or have assistance at home.
When NDIS participants turn 65, they have the option to stay in the scheme or receive support through aged care services.
If you’re confused about the scheme, you’re not alone. At HCA Home, we’ll point you in the right direction so you can start your NDIS journey. Contact us via our enquiry form or call us on 1300 422 111.
Below is the NDIS checklist used to see if you or a loved one can apply for the NDIS. Please note, the below questions are just a guide, the final decision whether you’re eligible or not is up to the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency)
